A very special guest visited Kurt's training camp this past week. The former WBO junior welterweight champ, Miguel Cotto was in from Puerto Rico to train with Kurt for his upcoming fight at UFC 111 on March 27th. It was a pleasure to have the champ here. We look forward to having him back and wish him the best of luck as he gets back in the ring on June 12th of this year!

Also training here for the month of February is the former WEC bantamweight champ, Miguel Torres! Miguel and Kurt are both training for big fights. Miguel will look to get back in title contention when he takes on Joseph Benavidez on March 6th (on Verses network)

Hey everyone

If you havent already heard I am fighting a very tough Fabricio Camoes at UFC 111 in Newark NJ on March 27th. I asked Joe Silva for the toughest fight he could find, and he found Fabricio Camoes. He is flying under the radar a bit, but just fought to a draw with the legend Caol Uno at UFC 106. I am very thankful to Joe Silva and the UFC for putting me on this card in my hometown and I will definitely be looking to make a huge statement in this fight.

Training camp is really hard, but going well. My back is feeling better everyday. I just spent some time in Boston with coaches Kenny and Keith Florian. We set our gameplan and strategy and went over some awesome techniques. The training was awesome as usual and kenflo and I did some even more awesome videos on our downtime. Check out youtube or our facebook pages. Haha!! Kenny is preparing for his upcoming fight as well at UFC Fight Night 21 vs Gomi. Cant wait for that one! So grateful to Kenny for setting me up with my new stregnth and conditioning coach, Jonathan Chaimberg, who is really a genius. He trains some of the best fighters out there including Kenny, Georges St Pierre and Rashad Evans. Im just honored to be working with him. http://www.adrenalineperformancecenter.com/main.html cont....

Hey Everyone

I just wanted to let all my fans know publically that I was forced to withdraw from my upcoming fight on Dec 5th vs Frank Edgar. My back has been a problem since my last fight vs Josh Neer and I did not give it the proper rest it deserved and I am now dealing with 3 herniated discs in my back. I know no fighter ever goes into a fight 100%. I fought with knee injuries, hand injuries, and many bumps and bruises and I have fought thru it, but it was impossible to fight through this back injury. It took me over a week to come to terms with the fact that I would have to pull out of this fight. Ive never pulled out of a fight before, so it was difficult for me. I was really looking forward to this fight, I had an awesome camp set up and I am in the best shape Ive been in a while.

I am now following doctors orders, hanging on my couch for a good week or two and taking a month off from training to heal up. I will be back soon and I hope that the UFC will put together another fight between me and Frank Edgar. It will be a great fight for the fans!! (cont....)
